What is a Photofacial/IPL treatment?
It is an advanced photo-rejuvenation treatment for areas such as the face, neck, arms, hands, legs and/or chest. It uses pulses of intense visible light that effectively improves facial redness, flushing, visible signs of sun damage and aging. It also decreases skin pore size and fine wrinkles. Photofacial treatments were pioneered by Dr. Ehab in Southern California four years ago and since then, many thousands of treatments have been performed with great success. It is a non-invasive method of Photo-rejuvenation to improve the appearance of the skin with no down time. This medical device is an advanced non-Laser FDA approved, also known as Vasculite TM. It uses a highly sophisticated computerized system which customizes to your skin type and specific needs. Photofacials will provide consistent visible improvements in skin with no downtime. |

What is a Photofacial treatment like? |
Each treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes and using an advanced cooling system (Cryo 5),makes it virtually discomfort-free. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear pink and flushed for a few minutes with no discomfort. Brown spots generally appear darker before exfoliation in a few days, leaving smoother, even toned skin underneath. |

How soon will I see results? |
After your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother and have a more even toned appearance. Subsequent improvements are gradual and will become more visible after each treatment. Six treatments are performed for optimal results, although some patients will benefit from additional treatments. |

What are the advantages of Photofacial treatments over different lasers, chemical peels and microdermabrasion? |
Photofacial is the only treatment available that can make changes of the skin instantaneously. It can take 5-10 different laser treatments for different problems of the skin to get the same results of one Photofacial treatment. This is because laser has a fixed wave length, as opposed to Photofacial which has different wavelengths at the same time. Also, the 5 year follow-up study from Johns Hopkins University showed that 87% of the improvements were still visible at the end of the 5 years. The microdermabrasion and chemical peel results last between a few days or weeks at best. |
